Step-by-Step – Let’s Install!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
So we had some big news last week! If you haven’t read the Venture Atlanta news, you can read the announcement here and read about my 3 tips for getting the most out of Venture Atlanta. It feels like just yesterday we were in the Startup Showcase at Venture Atlanta 2018! Time goes by fast and step-by-step we are growing as a company and building an amazing product for marketing teams.
Central to our user experience is the on boarding process. Unlike many Slack apps, Eletype doesn’t have a core webapp, which means everything from install, account creation, and configuration happens via messaging.
This week we added a few enhancements to the onboarding process.
First, we added the ability to create a new Slack channel on-the-fly during installation.
Second, we now support bulk loading of connections (ad accounts, email lists, or pipelines).
So today, let’s do a quick step-by-step guide to installing and connecting Eletype to your favorite marketing channels. 1,2,3,4 steps and less than 1 minute to connect and authorize 32 Facebook Connections!
Step 1 – Install
Click the “Add to Slack” button and you should get a Slack notification directing you to a new ‘eletype’ app in the Apps section of your Slack workspace.
Step 2 – Profile and Email Verification
Next, click on the “Profile” button right there in Slack and complete your Company profile. Eletype doesn’t keep track of users, we track your Slack workspace, so use an email address of someone (or something) that will act as the Admin or owner of the account.
Go check your email and you should have received an email verification code. Got it? Now Click the “Verify” button and your team will be all set up. That’s amazing! 🧳🔐👨🚀🎱
Step 3 – Authorize a Provider
Pick a Provider and then authorize using your provider credentials.
Eletype currently supports:
- Facebook Marketing
- Google Marketing
- Mailchimp Email
- CallRail Telephony (phone, text, leads)
- HubSpot Pipelines
- Domo (for customer data feeds)
Note: You can authorize multiple providers by using “/eletype reauth”. This is useful when you have multiple Facebook or multiple Google users that all want to authorize their own connections.
Step 4 – Add a Connection – Yay! New features ahead!
New Feature 1 – All Connections
Now you can add ALL! Woot! Just select “All Connections” and you are good to go.
Bulk loading is perfect now that we support Grouping.
New Feature 2 – Create a Channel
Also, you now have the option to create a new channel on the fly. Either select an existing channel or create a new one.
Check out how we add 32 connections in a snap:
When you are all done you can List out all of your connections like this:
That’s all for this week!

Slack has some great things to say about us:
Marketing Analytics Practice Lead Cierra Valor and SVP, Growth, Walter Rowland discuss steps teams can take today toward getting their data in order, and some of the benefits once you can get it done.
Startups seem to love slack, which dominates 60% of the market. The enterprise market is a different story where Microsoft Teams usage is up from 35 – 65%. Teams comes free with Mircosoft office and many large corporations may continue to favor Teams instead of paying for Slack.
