Wait, what happened to Monday Messaging?? For the next 3 months get ready for Tuesday Techstars!
Today we are happy to announce that Eletype has been accepted into the Techstars Atlanta class of 2019. It’s been a busy year for us and nothing sums it up better than the advice we got last year after we weren’t accepted into Techstars ‘18.
“Lines not dots.”
While we were sad that we missed the cut last year, it was a blessing in disguise and we are stronger as a result. We are stronger because our dots weren’t connected last year.
Last year at this time our product had just been released in the Slack App Directory and, even though it was functional, it suffered from UX and on-boarding issues. The signal to noise ratio was off and it was missing critical self-service features. We covered the lessons learned from the gaps extensively in this blog over the past couple months and thankfully it is all coming together just in time for Techstars.
But product development was only one line that came together over the past year. During that time deals started to come together, investors started to come together, and relationships were built and strengthened over that time.
Seeds were planted and nurtured. Some seeds sprouted quickly and some sprouted slowly (agonizingly slow in some cases). Some seeds sprouted only to wither while some never sprouted, but we remain hopeful that they will in the future.
We are proud that last years dots came together over many months of hard work creating a line that connects two of my favorite people in the Atlanta startup community: Michael Cohn and Dave Payne. I’m thankful for the advice we received last year and I’m honored to have the opportunity this year.
There were approx 400 companies that applied for Techstars Atlanta and I know Dave did not take this decision lightly, so we are going to do our best to make the most of this program.
Stay tuned for weekly blog posts with the latest from Techstars and regular product and company updates.
